Thanks to the generous support of our funders, donors and partners, we are proud to offer highly subsidised best practice Courses in Asthma & Respiratory Education (C.A.R.E) for health professionals. Facilitated and presented by our nurse or respiratory educators, our in-person and online courses are built around an interactive, practical and evidence-based approach. Our courses ensure that front line health professionals have the most up-to-date knowledge.

- Aetiology and risk factors
- Pathophysiology of asthma
- Asthma triggers
- Management of asthma emergencies in the community
- Pharmacological and non-pharmacological management of asthma
- Correct use and care of inhaler devices
- How to educate patients about asthma
- Practical application of the latest asthma guidelines

Course Details:
- Full course -$100 per person
- Half day refresher – $50 per person

- In-person: staged at the Asthma New Zealand Offices, 581 Mt Eden Road, Auckland, 9.30am to 4.00pm. Tea and coffee provided. Free car parking. Professional Development – 8 hours + certificate
- Online: 9.30am to 3.00pm – full day. Link and resources will be provided to registered participants, 24h in advance. Professional Development – 6 hours + certificate
- 9.30am to 1.00pm – refresher.

- One is an asthma refresher only

Am I eligible for an Asthma C.A.R.E Course?
Any health professional can sign up to participate in one of our highly subsidised best practice courses. We recommend that school nurses attend a special course, as we cover more detail on caring for children in an educational environment. All other health professionals should select the Asthma C.A.R.E course.
Are there any costs associated with these courses?
We offer a highly subsidised fee of $100 + GST pp thanks to the generous support of our funders, donors and partners.
What should I prepare for my course?
