Asthma and respiratory sector connection

In response to a respiratory stakeholder consultation process undertaken in September 2024, where attendess expressed a deep desire to collaborate more and work effectively together, Asthma NZ has established and co-ordinates quarterly respiratory stakeholder connection hui.
These virtual 60-minute meetings are designed to provide opportunities for health professionals, educators, researchers, allied health and anyone with an interest in respiratory health to connect, share information, collaborate and learn. 
Each hui follows the same format, delivered by sector leads including:
  • Key sector insights/updates
  • Updates on research and innovation
  • Capability and build
  • Opportunities to identify risks/opportunities
  • Collaboration and Connection
  • Contribution to sector decision making/planning

Respiratory Patient Voice Discussion | Monday 13 April 2026 | 9.00 – 9.30am

This session will explore how we as health professionals can collaboratively strengthen and embed patient voice within respiratory care. With a focus on inclusivity, we’ll discuss how to ensure all voices and perspectives are heard, particularly those often underrepresented and how these insights can shape more responsive, equitable, and person-centred services and research. This is an opportunity to connect across sectors, share ideas, and help guide a collective approach to elevating the experiences of people living with respiratory conditions across Aotearoa.
