Book a spirometry test

Asthma NZ Spirometry services will be up and running again from May at our office in Mt Eden, Auckland. If you require an appointment prior to May, please contact your GP or other local provider.

Spirometry is a gold standard diagnostic test for long-term respiratory conditions such as Asthma and COPD.

A spirometry test measures lung function, specifically the amount and/or speed of air that can be inhaled and exhaled. It gives health professionals information to better determine a treatment plan.

Thanks to our funders, donors and partners, Asthma NZ can offer subsidised Spirometry testing at our Auckland office for the low cost of $70. To request a booking for spirometry testing, simply fill out the form below and one of our team will be in touch with you shortly. Health professionals, please use our patient referral form

Special note: Asthma New Zealand are unable to interpret Spirometry results for you. With your consent, a copy of your test report will be sent to your GP or other provider for interpretation and evaluation.  Spirometry tests can be provided for both diagnostic and other purposes (insurance, medical, employment, surveillance, etc).

Am I eligible for a spirometry test?

Our spirometry technicians will ask you some questions over the phone before an appointment is offered to see if you are eligible for a spirometry test at Asthma NZ. Some health conditions may mean you are unable to have spirometry testing and include:

If we are unable to assist you with spirometry testing, your GP or specialist will be able to provide you with alternative attangements.

Spirometry is only offered at our office at 581 Mt. Eden, Mt. Eden, Aucklnad.
