More than 1 million New Zealanders live with asthma or a respiratory condition.

This Asthma Awareness Week, we’re shining a national spotlight on the free services and support available from Asthma New Zealand and local community providers all over the country.

You don’t have to do this alone. Take control of your breathing today!

United by powerful call to action : with the right support, asthma doesn't have to hold you back.

This year, we’ve united a diverse group of ambassadors to share this powerful message.

In our new short film, we are joined by:

    • Moana Pasifika rugby stars, brothers Julian and Ardie Savea
    • World champion boxer Mea Motu (Te Rarawa, Ngāpuhi)
    • Rising Auckland Hearts cricketer Anika Todd (Ngāti Whātua)
    • Former All Black and professional firefighter Steve Devine

They share their real life experiences – a raw kōrero on diagnosis and management – alongside young patient ambassadors Alani (3), Regan and Kian (10), and their mums Jessica and Olivia.

All live with asthma – and they’re encouraging others to take control of their breathing today.

Claire Beard, Asthma NZ CEO, says: “These ambassadors have lived experience of asthma. Their stories remind us we’re not alone and that help is available. And thanks to the generosity of our funders, donors and partners, we’re able to offer these services free to anyone who needs them.”
