Respiratory health courses

Our highly qualified and experienced Nurse Educators run our industry-leading Courses in Asthma and Respiratory Education (CARE) all over Aotearoa New Zealand.

They work closely with health professionals to increase their knowledge of symptoms, treatments and care for those living with Asthma and COPD and provide follow-ups to ensure professional development. We will have a 2025 course schedule and booking form here shortly. Stay tuned!

Asthma CARE courses

The Asthma NZ CARE course is an interactive, practical, and evidence-based day where participants leave with eight PD hours and an increased knowledge and competence in:

  • Asthma introduction – global and local context
  • Aetiology and risk factors
  • Pathophysiology of asthma
  • Asthma triggers
  • Management of asthma emergencies in the community
  • Pharmacological and non-pharmacological management of asthma
  • Correct use and care of inhaler devices
  • How to educate patients about asthma
  • Practical application of the latest asthma guidelines
  • Facilitated and presented by Asthma NZ respiratory educators
